After I got the post up, I realized that Mike and I didn't open our gift from Dad and Darlene! It was a gorgeous print of a picture dad took last month in South Carolina when we all got together. Dad said it looked like an album cover. We all agreed. Here is the picture:
It was a nice trip for us and nice for me to have this reminder of that weekend.

Christmas Morning
The kids slept in until around 7:30 this morning. Mike and I were up until 2am, so we appreciated getting a little sleep. Here are our photos:
Zach opened the first gift of the morning. A really fun Rubics Cube.
Next Jacob and Cole opened a fun Lego set from Nana and Papa. They've been wanting this one for a while!
Zach opened his second gift. Legend of Zelda for the DS.
Reid opened his gift from Nana and Papa: $25 and a collection of Calvin and Hobbes books! He was happy. We all LOVE Calvin and Hobbes!
Reid gave Cole his iPod Shuffle (Reid doesn't use it any more since he bought a PSP with money he had been saving for a year). Cole was very pleased!
Reid was rewarded for his generosity with a 4GB memory card for his PSP.
One of the last gifts we opened was a family gift from Nana and Papa (mostly Papa, I bet. :)
The kids have been having a really, really fun time with these nerf guns this morning. I almost lost an eye, but the kids are having fun. :)
Mike got me two puzzles (I have to get a puzzle or it isn't Christmas!) and the soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou?. I was very happy (funny picture!).
I got Mike a gift card for sushi! And some much needed Birkenstocks.
And the final gift was presented by each kid opening an accessory and then figuring out what they got for Christmas:
A Wii! How fun!
Merry Christmas! We are littered with nerf bullets and enjoying watching children box each other. And now you know why Mike and I were up until 2am... playing the Wii!

Kory
Cole came downstairs to give me a hug before he went to bed and he saw Kory (one of our cats) on the steps with a mouse in his mouth. Kory is now in the kitchen chasing the mouse. It is apparently in the pile of paper I keep for shredding and putting in the worm compost bin, because Kory is making all kinds of racket. Hopefully he won't fatally wound it and let it get away to hide and die somewhere like the mouse we had to get out from under the fridge. (YUCK!)

Baby Sophia
It sure is nice to have this precious little girl in our lives. Laura (her mom) brought her over tonight while she and Danny (her dad) went to his office Christmas party. When Laura was dropping her off, Laura said, "Where's Aunt Joyce?" And Sophia reached her arms out to me for me to hold her. My heart melted. Mike's melted, too, when she ran to him with her arms wide open when he got home from work. :) What a precious little person.
Here are more sweet photos:
First One
So, this is my attempt at keeping up with the Joneses. :) I figured I would hop on the blog bandwagon and see if it helps me let family know what's going on with us. And it's probably as good a way as any of keeping a journal.
So, hopefully there'll be some fun stuff coming up soon.
